Mandy from the team was happy to review the Freesat 4K TV Box and said: “This year, in particular, has seen us all spending most of our time indoors and I’m sure we have all spent a little more time than usual watch tv, so I was keen to give the 4K TV Box a try as it is easy to set up and there are no subscription costs.

Inside the box there are the Freesat box, remote and batteries, I do love it when batteries are included, Power supply & power cable, HDMI cable, set of instructions and safety notice. To set this up I simply connected the cables from my satellite dish into the back of the box and connected the box to my tv using the included HDMI cable. After putting the batteries in the remote, it was time to turn this on, I will say you can use an Ethernet cable which is not included before you turn this on to connect to the internet but I chose the wireless option.
I plugged the Freesat 4K TV Box in and pressed the power button on the remote and turned on my tv and I was ready to enter the setup mode. On the screen there was a welcome message and I had to agree to the terms and condition and then the wireless network, the box automatically searched for my wireless network which is picked up quickly and I entered my password and that was the box connected to the internet. On the next screen, I entered my postcode which took me to the next screen. At this point, I had to set up a Freesat account which I did online so that this could be paired with the Freesat App.
Finally, there was the option to set up parental control by entering a unique pin which again and I did and that was the Freesat box all set up and ready to use. I pressed the TV Guide button on the remote and I was given all of the channels that are included with the box which included BBC, Dave, ITV, Sky News and many more. It also showed me what was coming on next and I could scroll through the guide and it showed me what was going to be on tv over the next 7 days. When watching a program I could easily go up and down channels, adjust the volume, search, get information on a program, turn on audio description and sort the TV Guide in channel categories.
Accessing On Demand, BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub and Netflix was simple as I just pressed whichever button I wanted on the remote and it instantly took me these. When I accessed any of these I could Pause, Play, Rewind, Fast Forward and Stop using the remote. The picture was very clear as this is 4K, there was no blurred picture and everything was so sharp, it was great!
Overall I was impressed with just how easy the Freesat 4K TV Box was to set up, all of features and channels this had to offer, the fact that there were no hidden subscription costs, and it was great to be able to access all of the On Demand and Streaming services at just the push over a button, great service.”
